SCIENCE — READING THE RECORD

Know what a result actually says.

HPLC and mass spectrometry answer different analytical questions. A method description explains the test; a batch-specific laboratory report documents a result. Ten Sequence peptide listings have published reports from Freedom Diagnostics LLC. AquaSEQ is a laboratory supply with no COA.

SECTION 01 — TWO DIFFERENT QUESTIONS

Purity and identity are not interchangeable.

These are common analytical techniques in peptide characterization. Neither method establishes a result for a specific Sequence listing without its laboratory record.

A HPLC

What proportion is the target?

High-performance liquid chromatography separates components in a sample. A laboratory report may use the chromatogram to report a purity value for the tested batch.

  • Read the named method and sample
  • Check the lot or batch identifier
  • Review the original laboratory report
B MASS SPECTROMETRY

Does the mass match?

Mass spectrometry measures molecular mass. A laboratory can compare an observed mass with an expected value to help assess identity for the tested sample.

  • Compare observed and expected values
  • Check the sample identifier
  • Read the method and interpretation
02
SECTION 02 — THE CERTIFICATE

Look for the batch connection.

A useful Certificate of Analysis identifies the material tested, the lot, the methods, the results, and the issuing laboratory.

◈ DOCUMENT CHECK

Read the record, not the badge

A catalog badge is a pointer to documentation. The laboratory document itself is the record to review.

  • Material and lot identification
  • Method and date of testing
  • Reported result and issuing laboratory
  • Connection to the supplied batch

SECTION 03 — CURRENT STATUS

Published laboratory records.

Ten Certificates of Analysis report purity by HPLC-UV and identity by LC-MS. Tested by Freedom Diagnostics LLC; reported 2026-10-27. AquaSEQ is a laboratory supply with no COA.

◈ BEFORE ORDERING

If your laboratory requires a batch-specific result, contact the research desk and request the document before relying on a purity or identity claim.
